THE HOLISTIC NOMADS : Group experience

     The first day of class was very interesting, the first thing we did was divide into groups. The thought that immediately rushed into my mind was how am I going to choose the group, which person is irresponsible, which is nicer… and at the end the professor assigned to us the group. At the first group meeting, my mind was put to rest. Each of them as the first impression was really friendly and open. Also, group projects are a really nice way to meet new people even though I’m skeptical sometimes because some group projects sometimes don’t go well. But in this case, it did go very well. We chose the name “Holistic Nomads” and my experiences in this group have been amazing. Since the beginning we assigned roles to each one, mine is the Task Manager. Each of us spans from natural Sciences to Social Sciences and in the first assignment, we got to know each other well and immediately clicked.

Each assignment we did as a group was fun. Even though we sometimes had different opinions and we could spend hours talking, which sometimes distracted us from the work but in the end, we joined heads and finished. I had a lot of fun being in this group and getting to know them. I loved the dynamic of assigning roles which each one chose and that helped me better understand them depending on the roles which matched perfectly. Apart from the in-class exercises and communication, we created a group chat. I felt very comfortable begun around them. We all were our authentic self’s. The members where Kiara, Alondra, Isabel, Miguel, Anthony and me. Kiara is a very confident person and is very funny. Alondra is very nice and sociable, also we always looked at each other when something funny or weird happened in class laughing; Isabel is the head of the group,  very organized and friendly; Miguel is very cool and a great person to talk to; last but not least Anthony which is very unique, authentic and very nice. Each of the members complimented the other perfectly and were pretty friendly and respectful.

We all got to bond and enjoy the course. The most favorite thing we did in the class was this group project and the journal. I got to meet some incredible people and it was an experience that joined the group and gave me new friends. From the laughs to the in class exercises, it was a very authentic and enjoyable experience. We have planned to meet up in the summer and spend time together. This course was literally a Journey in literature and our lives, I met new people and a great professor.
